How to choose

Check the return against the available installation space and the two pipe centerlines. Send center-to-center distance as well as nominal size. Replacing a return with two 90° elbows changes the assembly and adds a joint; the designer must confirm dimensions, weld access and inspection requirements.

Which dimensions are essential?

Provide DN or NPS, outside diameter, wall thickness, bend radius, center-to-center distance, material, standard and quantity. Mark any special end preparation or tolerances on the drawing.

Can two 90° elbows replace a return?

Only after the layout and fabrication requirements have been checked. It is not an automatic equivalent: joint position, fit-up and inspection access can differ.

Is DN3000 a standard 180° return?

No. Standard sizes are DN15 to DN1200. Larger returns, up to DN3000, are made to drawing.
