Buying Guide for Butt-Weld Fittings and Forged Flanges

What to send with an inquiry

• Butt-weld fitting or forged flange. For fittings, say elbow, tee, reducer, or cap. For flanges, say the type.
• Material: 304, 316L, 2205, or 2507.
• Size, wall thickness or pressure class, and quantity.
• Standard: ASME B16.9 is common for fittings, ASME B16.5 for flanges. Large diameters are made to drawing.
• For non-standard parts, send a drawing with dimensions, tolerances and surface finish requirements. A sample photo can help explain the part.
